Hub Sharing - A Tutorial
69Prelude
I saw a very well written hub by Brett Tesol that detailed a method to build traffic by sharing good hubs. I thought this was a really great idea, but I had to reread the text a few times to get the idea how to accomplish this, so I wrote this tutorial using graphics to illustrate Brett's Idea.
Sharing Hubs
Hub Writing Basics
I have been writing on Hub Pages for almost a year now and often wondered how to get traffic to my hubs. There are many things you can do to get more traffic, and the most important thing is writing good quality hubs filled with relevant information.
Once you have done that you can focus on building your list of followers by reading other people's hubs, and communicating with those people that you have a connection with or that have great hubs that you enjoy.
As you begin to build followers and follow others, you will gradually begin to be known in the Hub Pages community and hopefully respected.
So to boil down the first basics, you should write good hubs, read good hubs and connect with the community.
The next steps
Once you have written several hubs and begin to build a following, you should begin sharing the other good hubs you find with your friends and followers. You want to only share the hubs that are truly well written and have valuable or interesting information so that you don't overload your followers with spam. You can also share hubs via social networking and on your other sites and blogs.
This concept was introduced in a hub by Brett Tesol and I wanted to expound on that by adding the graphic depictions of how this is accomplished.
How to Share Hubs
According to Brett, When you read an interesting hub that you want to share, you can do this by clicking the "Share" button at the bottom of the hub. It is located with the other buttons where you can vote up a hub and or mark the hub as awesome etc.
See the picture below, for an example.
The Share Button
When you click the "Share" button you will get a new window opened with the choices of where to share the hub. You simply click the destination you would like to share the hub to on this page.
If you click the "Share with followers" link, the window will close and the hub will be shared. That is all you need to do to share this way. If you choose another destination, you will be prompted to sign in to the site (such as Facebook).
See the pictures below for an example.
The Share Menu
Facebook Share window
So, now you know how to share a hub using the built-in sharing button that is attached to every hub. As you begin sharing hubs, you should comment on the hub first, then share it. Also put a note in the comment letting the author know that you shared their hub and hopefully they will do the same for you.
If you do this your hub traffic as well as following list will grow much faster. Another benefit, is that you will meet more interesting people and make new friends this way.

Could it be possible that some credit to Brett is in order?
Really interesting hub. I won't lie, since I've been writing on here I've started using this website for personal research a lot more -- such a broad community. I have run across a lot of really fascinating and useful articles, so I will definitely be doing this!
Thanks for including a link to my original hub.
However, the giving of quality comments, sharing of them and letting the writer know so that they will hopefully return and do the same for you, I believe was my idea (you make it look like it was your idea here) ... unless you wrote this a while ago and had the same idea?
However, I do appreciate that you have expanded it with the screenshots of the SHARE button, as you commented on my hub, you yourself had not noticed or used this feature much before.
Thank you for the adjustment.
It was not so much as the 'use of the share button', but the 'use of the comments' to create a club of SHARERS that would benefit everyone involved and provide some benefit to those that make the effort to SHARE others' interesting hubs.
I hope the hub will be a success for you, as SHARING should be spread. After all, a team can achieve far more than one person.
Great one curiad !!! Your writing style is amazingly illustrative..
thanks for the help!
Thank you Curiad for sharing the tips. Will share your hub to my friends.
I support sharing each others hubs. You get the chance to read hubs that you may not have otherwise seen and help each other out in the process. This does add some additional helpful information. Thank you, I will be sharing this also! Have a great day! Voted up and useful. :)
Thank you! You made it very clear. I read Brett's hub and loved the suggestions. Now I will begin to put them into use.
Hi Curiad, Great Hub! I've been writing Hubs here for a few months now and I like poking around in hubpages for good, informative articles like this one. I will check out Brett's Hub as well since he "gave you the idea", so to speak. I like your writing style.Voted up and shared.
Thank you, Curiad (and Brett!), for this useful tip about sharing. It has been under my nose all this time without my noticing the SHARE button.... Voted Up, Useful and SHARE.
Thanks for the tip on sharing hubs. I have started with sharing yours. Sandra Busby
I think it is great that you are passing on the message to more of the community about how the concept of sharing works, and the photos help show just how to go about it.

Thanks for this. I was just beginning to get the idea and this confirms it. Sandra Busby
